In her second video diary, Roberta explains why she chose The Avoca Clinic for her Abdominoplasty and muscle repair surgery. She explains how she researched a variety of clinics throughout Ireland and whilst many seemed reputable, she discovered that there are often surgeons in those clinics who are not members of the Irish Plastic Surgeons Association whereas all of The Avoca Clinic’s surgeons are members.
“It almost felt like being in a beauty spa”
When she visited The Avoca Clinic for her first consultation, Roberta was naturally a bit nervous but tells us that she was instantly made to feel welcome and put at ease by members of The Avoca Clinic team. She also commended the Clinic on it’s decor and cleanliness.
“I didn’t feel rushed at all”
For her first consultation, Roberta met her surgeon who listened to all of her concerns and after having a look at her tummy, explained how she was a perfect candidate for a Tummy Tuck, assuring Roberta that he could sew up the hernias giving her a full muscle repair.
After her first consultation which lasted around half an hour, Roberta explains how she was given a two week cooling off period with which to digest all the information and to decide whether to go ahead with the procedure or not.
After the two weeks had passed, Roberta returned to the clinic with a list of questions for her surgeon who was happy to go through all of her questions and concerns. She was also shown several before and after pictures of precious patients and said that she “didn’t feel rushed at all”. After her second consultation Roberta decided that she was happy to go ahead with the procedure.
Roberta explains the importance of preparation to her and how she felt The Avoca Clinic team made her feel completely informed and prepared for her procedure as well as showing her exactly what kind of binder she would be given to wear. Additionally, she shows us a selection of pillows that she has bought online for the recuperation period after her surgery.
