A breast uplift (mastopexy) is the best way to raise and re-shape the breast which may have lost volume and shape following pregnancy, weight loss or just the ageing process and gravity.
In short, a breast uplift is the removal of excess skin from the breast area therefore allowing our patients to have more pert breasts following surgery.
Many women request both an augmentation (implant) and a lift preformed at the same time. Whilst we can of course facilitate this we must point out that we will only carry out this surgery if the patient only requires a small implant (no greater than 280cc implant). If the patient requests a larger implant, we would suggest that the surgery be carried out in 2 stages with the augmentation performed first and within 2-3 months, the uplift procedure itself.
Your Surgery
A Breast lift can improve the appearance of the breasts in several ways. It elevates the breast tissue, repositions the nipple and areola (pigmentation around the nipple), and enhances breast shape. The procedure can vary in length of time between 1.5 – 2.5 hours, based on whether or not you would like to have implants. In most cases we would prefer a patient to stay over night after their surgery and we would be delighted to discuss your options in full at your consultation.
Results & Recovery
We understand that one of the major deterrents for women contemplating either a breast
reduction or breast uplift is the scarring. This is a huge area of concern and one that we can understand. The good news is that techniques have changed and most women in the hands of our highly experienced surgeons in the Avoca Clinic with the most up-to-date techniques, can proceed with this surgery knowing that they will just have the periareolar incision or ‘lollipop scar’. .The recovery time varies from patient to patient but a recent survey shows that most women will be back at work within 10- 14 days following this procedure. You will be required to diligently follow the discharge instructions from the clinic as your participation in our aftercare programme is absolutely necessary.
