Upper and lower eyelid surgery
Some men and women may choose to have both upper and lower blepharoplasty done at the same time. When this operation is carried out by a registered plastic surgeon with aesthetic experience and knowledge, the results can transform not only the eye but the face as well. These procedures can be done under local anaesthetic.
Upper Eye Lid
In short, upper eyelid surgery is the removal of loose or folds of skin from the eyelid. This is called Upper Blepharoplasty. This procedure can reduce droopy eyelids, restore the contour of eye and give youthful definition to your eyes.
Lower Eye Lid
Lower eyelid surgery is the removal of the fat pads underneath the eye. This is quite a common problem as we get older and in some cases younger men and women can require this surgery as either parent may also suffer from ‘puffy’ eyes. This surgery can without doubt reduce the bags under the eyes. We would hear from many patients that they are constantly asked ‘are you tried?’ or ‘have you had some late nights? and this eventually prompts them to undergo this very successful surgery.
We perform this surgery under both local and general anaesthetic which the surgeon will discuss with you at your complimentary consultation. The procedure takes approx 1 hour and is usually a day care procedure. This is usually performed as a day case and we will recommend treatments to minimize bruising that can occur both pre-operatively and following surgery
